What You Will Be Doing

* Cultivating and applying comprehensive education product knowledge to inform strategic choices

* Creating technical specifications that establish key technical decisions while emphasizing simplicity, operational efficiency, and sustainable design

* Deploying generative AI capabilities to automate and optimize engineering workflows, consistent with the overarching goal of minimizing manual effort

* Pure people management; your technical depth and business insight will be the defining aspects of this role

* Spending time on meetings, committees, and bureaucratic processes; we have streamlined management overhead so you can concentrate on generating business impact through direct contributions

* Abstract strategies lacking actionable implementation details; your guidance must be grounded in product-level understanding

Vice President Of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities

* Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, commanding core capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership

Basic Requirements

* 7+ years of experience driving critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of architecture design patterns or major open source technologies

* 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)

* 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product

* Experience using AI agents to design, implement, and test software products or features

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
