Technical Team Lead, LearnWith.AI (Remote) - $200,000/year USD

We are seeking Technical Team Leads to oversee quality and delivery for our application-level products. In this role, you will guide a small engineering team of 3-5 people building educational applications that serve thousands of students.

Potential Products Include

* Athena: AI-powered videos and assessments that produce measurable learning results

* TeachTap: AI-driven platform bringing historical figures to life through a TikTok-style educational interface

* TeachTales: Customized, engaging storytelling designed to improve reading comprehension

* TrashCat: Game-based learning that makes education enjoyable and interactive

This position functions as a player-coach: you'll spend 50% of your time hands-on developing complex features and 50% mentoring and empowering your team. You establish quality standards, define technical patterns, conduct code reviews with educational feedback, and support engineer development. Team outcomes are your responsibility, not solely your individual contributions.

Small team structure, significant ownership, minimal bureaucracy. Your focus is technical leadership; people management is handled separately.

What You Will Be Doing

* Developing complex features that serve as technical patterns for your team

* Conducting pull request reviews with comprehensive, instructional feedback

* Mentoring engineers through pair programming and constructive feedback

* Organizing technical tasks and decomposing project requirements

* Defining quality benchmarks and ensuring team adherence

What You Won’t Be Doing

* Handling people management responsibilities (recruitment, termination, performance evaluations, career development discussions)

* Developing platform-level infrastructure components

* Attending excessive meetings

* Creating architecture without hands-on implementation

Basic Requirements

Technical Team Lead key responsibilities

* Minimum 5 years of full-stack development experience

* Minimum 2 years in a leadership capacity (conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, defining team standards)

* Proven history of delivering SaaS products

* Practical experience integrating AI tools into development processes

* Demonstrated success in developing and advancing other engineers

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
