Pyrrhonian, Inc.

Pyrrhonian, Inc. is an independent nonprofit research organization dedicated to investigating the epistemic failures of large language models — hallucination, sycophancy, and representational opacity — through the lens of classical Pyrrhonian skepticism. Originally established as a partnership bridging technical research and political science, Pyrrhonian, Inc. was reconstituted in March 2026 as an Arizona domestic nonprofit corporation to formalize its research mission and pursue institutional partnerships. Our work bridges two traditions separated by two millennia: the systematic epistemology of Sextus Empiricus and the mathematical structure of transformer-based neural networks. We believe that the Pyrrhonian framework — epochē (suspension of judgment), isostheneia (equipollence), and the Ten Modes of Aenesidemus — provides not merely an analogy but a formally rigorous diagnostic and architectural guide for building AI systems that are honest about the boundaries of their own knowle
