About The Role

What if your voice could directly shape how AI understands and communicates with millions of people? We're looking for professional voice actors and voice-over artists with authentic South African English accents to participate in paid studio recording sessions for a leading AI speech research project.

This is a contract role for experienced voice talent based in South Africa. Your recordings will help train AI systems to better understand real, natural human speech — the way South Africans actually talk.

This project does not involve voice cloning.

* Sessions: 2–3 sessions of 4 hours each

What You'll Do

* Record natural, conversational South African English speech in a professional studio environment

* Participate in solo single-speaker recording sessions

* Participate in dual-speaker dialogue sessions with another voice artist

* Vary tone, pacing, and delivery based on light direction from session leads

* Deliver realistic, authentic dialogue that sounds natural and unscripted

* Bring your full voice-acting craft to help AI sound more human

Who You Are

* A professional voice actor or voice-over artist with real recording experience

* A native or near-native South African English speaker with an authentic accent

* Currently based in South Africa

* Comfortable with natural conversational delivery — not just scripted read-throughs

* Receptive to direction and able to adjust performance in the moment

* Reliable, professional, and easy to work with in a studio setting

Nice to Have

* Background in acting, theatre, or performance

* Experience in broadcast, podcast, or commercial voice-over work

* Prior studio recording experience in a professional environment
