What You’ll Be Contributing:
The Vice President, Engineering and Technology will lead all aspects of engineering, product development, and technology innovation for HPC&AI, a division of Hypertec Group. This leader will drive the company’s technical vision, oversee the design and development of next-generation hardware products, ensure operational excellence in engineering, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in computer hardware systems, product lifecycle management, and emerging technologies.
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute the company’s long-term technology and product roadmap in alignment with business goals;
* Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation in hardware design, system architecture, and manufacturing processes;
* Partner with executive leadership to shape strategic decisions that advance the company’s market position and profitability;
* Represent the company’s technology strategy to customers, suppliers, partners, and at industry events.
Engineering Management
* Lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization and work to develop a high-performance culture;
* Oversee full product development lifecycle; concept, design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing transition, and post-launch support;
* Implement best practices in design verification, validation, and reliability testing to ensure world-class product quality;
* Manage technology resources, budgets, and staffing plans to meet aggressive delivery schedules;
* Champion process improvements, agile development, and metrics-driven performance management.
Technology Development
* Drive development efforts in emerging areas such as AI-enabled hardware, edge computing, advanced semiconductors, thermal management, and system integration;
* Identify and evaluate new technologies, tools, and suppliers to enhance performance and cost efficiency;
* Ensure robust technology IP strategy, including patents, trade secrets, and competitive differentiation;
* Oversee compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and product safety requirements.
Culture Builder
* Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing, innovative engineering team;
* Foster a culture of collaboration between engineering, product management, sales, operations, and marketing;
* Promote professional development within the technical organization.
Operational Excellence
* Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of products that meet or exceed performance and quality expectations;
* Lead risk management efforts across engineering projects and supply chains;
* Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and cost reduction initiatives;
* Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering productivity, quality, and innovation outcomes.
What Sets You Apart:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field required. MBA or Ph.D. preferred;
* 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering leadership roles within the computer hardware, semiconductor, or electronics industry;
* Proven success managing large-scale product development and hardware system integration;
* Experience leading cross-functional global engineering teams;
* Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and financial literacy;
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Deep technical expertise coupled with the ability to translate technology into business value;
* Track record of innovation and technical excellence;
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
* Proficiency in French.
