* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 4 years of experience in UX design, product design, conversation design, or UX writing and content design.
* Experience designing conversational AI prompts (e.g., AI prompt engineering) for a range of user contexts.
* Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
* Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Experience leading content strategy projects or in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or a related field.
* Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
* Experience defining model and agentic AI experiences, and translating those into product direction and improvements.
* Experience working on a content and conversation design team, including scaling frameworks and standards that ensure quality on multi-modal user experiences.

As a Conversation Designer, you’ll create conversational, voice-forward experiences across multiple surfaces, such as smart speakers, smart displays, auto, and more. You’ll work on multiple projects simultaneously, deal with cross-functional stakeholders, and provide feedback and direction to design work. Design work will include understanding product requirements and user context, and you’ll create flows, prompts, and multi-modal interaction patterns.
As a UX Conversation Designer, you will partner with a UX writing and content design team to work on user experiences that support the local discovery and emerging experiences team. In this role, you will focus on GenAI content and conversational design work which includes content design, conversation design, model UX, and video production.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.
The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
* Execute high-quality UX outcomes and content deliverables for specific product areas using foundational design principles and scalable strategies.
* Utilize AI tools to enhance writing productivity, improve routine work quality, and help shape AI-driven user experiences.
* Coordinate with stakeholders and participate in cross-functional collaborations to move projects forward through challenges.
* Demonstrate knowledge of essential global processes, including localization, privacy, and accessibility standards.
* Advocate for user-centered product strategies and contribute to solutions that drive impact within a specific area; identify and recommend solutions for defined user problems and workstreams, helping to mitigate future issues through strategic design.
