Title: UAV Autonomy Engineer

Location: Remote (US)

Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months (can be extended)

Utilisation: 40 Hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, implement, and validate mission autonomy software components, including behavior trees and mission-level behaviors

* Develop and optimize algorithms for route planning and path planning in dynamic environments

* Architect and manage data pipelines to support autonomy and decision-making systems

* Contribute to the design of scalable and modular mission autonomy software architectures

* Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code in Python and C++

* Perform software verification, validation, and testing to ensure reliability and performance

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate autonomy solutions into larger systems

Required Qualifications:

* Must be a U.S. citizen.

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

* Strong programming experience in Python and C++

* Experience with autonomy systems, robotics, or AI-driven software development

* Solid understanding of path planning, route planning, and algorithm development

* Familiarity with software architecture principles and best practices

* Experience with testing, validation, and quality-focused software development

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with behavior trees or similar decision-making frameworks

* Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or aerospace systems

* Knowledge of real-time systems and distributed architectures

* Familiarity with simulation environments and data management systems
