Role Overview

As a Strategic Solution Architect, you will be the primary technical authority for our most high-stakes enterprise partnerships. You aren't just building pipelines; you are architecting the foundational "Data Intelligence" strategy that will power the next decade of our clients' AI and Analytics initiatives. You will work at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, ensuring that the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform (Lakehouse architecture) is successfully integrated into complex, multi-cloud ecosystems.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Technical Leadership

* Architectural Vision: Lead the design of end-to-end Lakehouse architectures (Medallion pattern: Bronze, Silver, Gold) that unify Data Engineering, Data Science, and SQL Analytics.

* Executive Advisory: Act as a "Trusted Advisor" to CTOs and CDOs, translating business KPIs into technical roadmaps.

* Legacy Modernization: Create migration strategies to transition legacy on-prem (Hadoop) or rigid cloud warehouse (Snowflake/Redshift) environments to a modern, open Lakehouse.

2. Solution Design & Implementation

* Unity Catalog & Governance: Architect enterprise-wide data governance and security frameworks using Unity Catalog.

* AI/ML Integration: Partner with Data Science teams to design MLOps lifecycles using MLflow and Mosaic AI for Generative AI/LLM development.

* Cloud Ecosystem Mastery: Ensure seamless integration with Azure (ADF/Synapse), AWS (S3/Glue), or GCP (BigQuery/GCS) native services.

3. Technical Value Selling

* Complex POCs: Lead high-impact Proof of Concepts (POCs) that demonstrate the performance and cost superiority of the Databricks platform.

* Performance Tuning: Optimize massive Spark clusters and Photon-powered SQL warehouses for maximum efficiency and ROI.

Required Qualifications

* Experience: 8+ years in Data Architecture, Solutions Architecture, or Lead Data Engineering roles.

* Technical Stack:

* Expertise: Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala), Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.

* Cloud: Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

* Languages: Expert-level Python and SQL.

* Strategy: Proven track record of managing $1M+ ARR accounts or leading digital transformations for Fortune 500 companies.

* Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to "simplify the complex" for non-technical stakeholders.

The "Databricks Plus" (Preferred)

* Databricks Certifications: Solution Architect Professional or Platform Administrator.

* Open Source Advocacy: Contributions to Spark, Delta Lake, or MLflow communities.

* AI Depth: Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning LLMs within a Databricks environment.
