STEM Research Jobs in the United States (Remote)
Rex.zone research roles focus on applied, hypothesis-driven workflows that turn ideas into measurable results across AI/ML, NLP, computer vision, and data-driven engineering. You will design experiments, build prototypes, evaluate model/system performance, and communicate findings to stakeholders in a distributed team.
What You Will Do
* Translate problem statements into testable hypotheses and run reproducible experiments
* Implement prototypes and evaluation harnesses in Python; maintain experiment logs for repeatability
* Perform statistical analysis, error analysis, and baseline/ablation studies
* Collaborate on dataset curation, data labeling strategy, and QA evaluation to improve training data quality
* Document results, risks, and recommendations via clear technical writing and research summaries
Required Qualifications
* Mid-Senior experience delivering applied research or R&D outcomes in a STEM domain
* Strong experimental design and statistical reasoning (e.g., hypothesis testing, confidence intervals)
* Proficiency in Python and common data science tooling
* Experience with ML evaluation, dataset versioning/curation, and training data quality workflows
* Ability to collaborate effectively in remote, asynchronous teams
Preferred
* LLM evaluation, prompt evaluation, or RLHF-adjacent workflows
* Familiarity with annotation guidelines compliance and vendor/ops labeling programs
* Exposure to MLOps and experiment tracking for reproducible research
Compensation
Competitive base pay: $30–$50 per hour (final rate may vary by scope and qualifications).
