Job Description:

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry. Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

Cloudera is the only hybrid data and AI platform company that large organizations trust to bring AI to their data anywhere it lives. European enterprises and public sector organisations are rapidly moving regulated workloads onto sovereign cloud platforms operated under EU jurisdiction. At Cloudera, we are building a dedicated motion across EMEA to turn our corporate Sovereign Cloud strategy into repeatable execution, powering digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

In this role, you will own the technical sales cycle for our sovereign cloud offerings across EMEA, acting as a trusted advisor to offering managers and enterprise architects navigating complex European data residency, regulatory compliance, and digital sovereignty requirements.

Rather than a broad portfolio of end customers, you will partner closely with strategic EMEA sovereign cloud providers—including AWS European Sovereign Cloud, STACKIT, T-Cloud, S3NS, and Bleu—to establish Cloudera as a first-class service within their platforms and marketplaces.

As a Sovereign Cloud Solution Architect at Cloudera, you will lead the adoption of Cloudera’s platform across public and dedicated European sovereign cloud stacks. You will design architectures covering connected, restricted-egress, and fully air-gapped environments while ensuring local operational control, strict data isolation, and regulatory alignment.

As a Sovereign Cloud Solution Architect you will:

• Serve as a technical thought leader and trusted advisor to EMEA field sales teams on sovereign cloud, helping position Cloudera offerings in regional accounts.

• Design target architectures for Cloudera on provider stacks, including multi-tenancy models, isolation boundaries, network/storage separation, identity federation, and quota governance.

• Map provider platform primitives in detail (IaaS, Kubernetes, object/block storage, IAM, KMS/HSM, BYOK/HYOK) and conduct structured gap analyses against Cloudera requirements.

• Work directly with customer Cloud, InfoSec, and Compliance teams to satisfy strict European data residency, local operational control, and governance regulations.

• Lead the technical sales cycle from introductory meetings through partnership agreement, marketplace listing, service launch, and tenant onboarding across European sovereign clouds.

• Advocate for sovereign provider requirements to Product Management and Engineering, translating feedback into structured product requirements.

• Participate in external publicity and community evangelism (conferences, webinars, blogs) focused on data sovereignty and AI workloads in EMEA.

We're excited about you if you have:

• 5+ years of customer-facing presales or technical architecture experience owning complex deals in enterprise cloud environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in European sovereign cloud frameworks, regulatory compliance (GDPR, EU jurisdiction), and dedicated regional providers like AWS European Sovereign Cloud, STACKIT, T-Cloud, S3NS, and Bleu.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift or upstream), Helm, operators, and cloud infrastructure primitives across OpenStack, VMware, KVM, or hyperscaler platforms.

• Deep technical knowledge of Big Data, Analytics, and AI ecosystem workloads (e.g., Spark, Hive, Presto, Kafka, Machine Learning).

• Proven ability to produce high-quality architecture deliverables, gap analyses, and reference designs for technical and executive audiences.

• You are happy to travel up to 25% of the time within your region, as domestic and international conditions permit.

• You can suggest the benefits of your complementary skills like technical marketing, public speaking, being multilingual, production-grade code development, enterprise architecture, PaaS/SaaS delivery, etc.

You may also have:

• Experience selling into or partnering with regional cloud service providers, telcos, or managed service providers across EMEA.

• Familiarity with European cybersecurity standards and certifications such as SecNumCloud, BSI C5, or GDPR compliance frameworks.

What you can expect from us:

• Generous PTO Policy

• Support work life balance with Unplugged Days

• Flexible WFH Policy

• Mental & Physical Wellness programs

• Phone and Internet Reimbursement program

• Access to Continued Career Development

• Comprehensive Benefits and Competitive Packages

• Paid Volunteer Time

• Employee Resource Groups
