Key Responsibilities:

* Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain business applications using SQL Server and associated technologies.

* System Integration: Build and manage data exchanges between internal and outsourced systems using data transformation tools such as DTS and SSIS.

* Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document detailed user and business requirements.

* Solution Design: Architect robust application and database solutions, preparing comprehensive process flows and technical documentation using Visio.

* Project Documentation: Produce project artefacts, including functional requirements, development test plans, and system documentation.

* Analysis & Planning: Conduct risk, feasibility, and impact assessments to inform project planning and implementation.

* Implementation: Oversee solution implementation, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and document solutions.

* Development Standards: Define and enforce coding and documentation standards within development initiatives..

* Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, technical teams, infrastructure, support, DBA, and QA testers.

* Vendor Management: Liaise with outsourced technical partners, vendors, and external developers to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

* Automation: Lead the introduction and management of central automation hubs and workflow management tools (such as ActiveBatch) to optimise processes.

Preferred Experience required in the following technologies:

* SQL Server (T-SQL, Database Design)

* SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

* Data Transformation Services (DTS)

* Visual Studio, .NET Web Services

* SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

* C#

* Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

* ActiveBatch or other automation/workflow scheduling tools
