Full Description

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support an Alpha‑phase healthcare project developing and maturing options for a future data collection solution. The architect will work closely with the User‑Centred Design (UCD) team to explore, assess, and refine a range of platform and service design options, ensuring proposals meet user needs, technical feasibility, and strategic objectives.

The role involves shaping early architectural concepts, evaluating existing platforms for potential reuse, defining high‑level data and service models, and advising on integration, security, and scalability. You will help the team test hypotheses, validate constraints, and identify viable technical approaches that can progress confidently into Beta.

Strong collaboration skills, broad technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while producing clear, high‑quality architectural outputs are essential.

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with the UCD team to translate user needs and requirements into viable technical solution options.

* Design and document solution architectures that meet healthcare data collection needs, considering security, compliance, and interoperability standards.

* Align architectural work with broader enterprise strategies, patterns, and governance frameworks.

* Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting messaging to diverse audiences.

* Identify emerging technologies and approaches that could enhance data collection capabilities.

* Ensure solutions adhere to relevant healthcare regulations, data protection laws, and service standards.

* Support assurance activities and manage risks associated with proposed solutions.

* Provide guidance on design standards, tools, and methods, ensuring best practices are followed.

* Work within a multidisciplinary team to enable change and deliver outcomes aligned with strategic goals.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience as a Solution Architect in healthcare or similar regulated environments.

* Strong understanding of data collection systems, integration patterns, and interoperability standards.

* Familiarity with user-centred design principles and ability to collaborate effectively with design teams.

* Knowledge of technical governance, risk management, and assurance processes.

* Ability to produce detailed architectural documentation and communicate effectively using various architecture representations.

* Experience with requirements analysis, prioritisation, and lifecycle management.

* Awareness of government commercial processes and compliance requirements.

* Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and modern data technologies.

* Understanding of healthcare data standards and security frameworks.

Desirable Skills

* Ability to identify and apply emerging technologies to improve data collection and reporting.

Benefits:

* Competitive salary with an annual performance-related bonus.

* Training budget for professional development and growth.

* Choice of MacBook or Windows laptop with necessary software.

* Cycle to Work scheme.

* Flexible working structure (remote or hybrid options).

* Pension contributions and life insurance.

* Private healthcare.

* Opportunities to work on diverse projects across public and private sectors.
