Our challenge
The Data, AI, and Research Technology (DART) team within Capital Markets is seeking a talented and experienced Data & AI Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data and AI solutions. This role will focus on building innovative Data Products, Signals, and AI Agents to empower Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Investment Research functions.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD$110k - CAD$130k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with product teams to gather detailed requirements and translate them into comprehensive end-to-end solution architecture specifications, addressing both functional and non-functional aspects.
* Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data & AI Governance, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure solution alignment with enterprise data strategies, AI governance policies, security standards, and architecture frameworks.
* Work with engineering teams to ensure the delivered solution adheres strictly to the prescribed architecture, performance, and security specifications.
* Present architecture artifacts, design proposals, and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating consensus and understanding across teams.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of industry experience, including at least 2 years as a Solutions Architect leading large-scale Data and AI projects, complemented by 3 years of Software Engineering experience.
* 3-5 years of practical experience working within Capital Markets, specifically with trading systems, market data, or related financial technologies.
* 3+ years’ experience designing and implementing scalable AI-driven software systems, with a strong understanding of agentic frameworks and their application.
* Proven expertise in architecting hybrid cloud solutions that satisfy business needs while ensuring compliance with security, performance, and scalability requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering teams, product owners, program managers, Data & AI Governance groups, and other stakeholders.
* Strong technical proficiency in Python, SQL, Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, and data engineering tools.
* Hands-on experience with Data Engineering, applied Machine Learning, and AI in production environments.
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Proficiency with Azure Databricks, Kubernetes, and other relevant cloud-native technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
