Job Description:
Business Solution Architect Payments
Overview
1. To lead detailed product walkthrough sessions, manage senior stakeholders from a leading bank
2. Serve as the go-to expert for all payment products and domain-related queries.
3. High-impact role will require deep understanding of the payments domain
4. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to bridge/defend the gap between product functionality and the bank's operational/business needs.
5. Must have 15+ years of relevant experience
6. Proficiency in Confluence, Google Suite and similar collaboration tools.
Skills:
1. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of understanding intricate business processes and mapping them to product functionalities.
3. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills to drive consensus and adoption among senior stakeholders.
4. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proficiency in creating compelling presentations and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Product Walkthroughs:
1. Strategically plan, organize, and lead walkthrough sessions.
2. Deliver comprehensive walkthroughs of payment products, as per the User Journeys and Stories and tailored to various stakeholder groups, including business, operations, IT, and compliance.
Stakeholder Management:
1. Engage and manage senior stakeholders, business heads, operations leads, SMEs, BAs, and Functional & Technical Architects from the bank, ensuring alignment on product vision, feature sets, and implementation approach.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for product-related inquiries and discussions at a senior level
3. Facilitate discussions to reconcile differences between our product's operational design and the bank's current workflows, proposing optimal integration strategies.
4. Track and close the queries raised by the stakeholders and minimise the open questions/threads daily
Domain Expertise:
1. Deep understanding of working and process flows of the Payments Engine and Payment Pre-processor
2. Hands-on Experience on the SWIFT MT and ISO Message types, Africa Payments Systems & Africa Rails is a Must
3. Understanding of Africa payment systems - clearinghouses and settlement systems processes
4. Provide authoritative responses to domain and product-related queries, including recent releases, roadmap items, and configuration capabilities.
5. Proactively identify and address any concerns or challenges raised by stakeholders, providing timely and effective solutions
Domain and Product Query Resolution:
1. Serve as the authoritative source for all domain-related (e.g., payment regulations, industry trends, clearing mechanisms) and product-specific queries.
2. Provide accurate, detailed, and insightful answers to complex questions, demonstrating a thorough understanding of both the payment landscape and our product architecture.
3. Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to gather necessary information and ensure consistency in responses.
4. Effectively convince stakeholders of the value proposition, efficiency gains, and strategic advantages of adopting our payment solutions.
Business-Process Mapping:
1. Analyze and map the bank’s current business processes with proposed product workflows. Articulate the benefits, trade-offs, and alignment clearly and convincingly.
2. Review the User Journeys and User Stories and provide internal Signoff and agree with the Bank's Stakeholders and get their sign-offs on the UJs and other related documentation
Change Advocacy:
1. Influence and convince stakeholders to adopt optimized product flows by demonstrating the value, scalability, and compliance alignment of the solution.
Cross-functional Coordination:
1. Liaise between product, engineering, implementation, and client teams to ensure clarity and consistency in communication.
