Software Architect (Hands-On) | Media-Tech / Content Platforms

We’re partnering with a fast-growing digital media and technology business looking for a hands-on Software Architect to join their Data & Product team.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape and build a next-generation platform powering large-scale content workflows, automation, and scheduling across multiple digital channels.

🚀 The Role

This is a 50/50 split between architecture and coding, ideal for someone who enjoys both strategy and hands-on engineering.

You will:

* Define and own system architecture across backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and UI

* Build scalable automation and scheduling systems handling high-volume content workflows

* Contribute directly to production code (Python, TypeScript/React)

* Work closely with product, operations, and stakeholders to translate real-world workflows into technical solutions

* Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team (onshore & offshore)

* Drive best practices across code quality, cloud infrastructure, and deployment

🧠 What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience as a Senior Engineer or Software Architect

* Strong hands-on skills in Python (APIs, async workflows)

* Experience with React / TypeScript for internal tools or dashboards

* Solid experience with cloud platforms (ideally GCP)

* (e.g. BigQuery, Cloud Run/Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore)

* Strong understanding of distributed systems, pipelines, or workflow engines

* Good SQL and data modelling knowledge

* Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams

* Experience with content platforms, media workflows, or APIs

* Exposure to workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect)

* Interest in automation, AI/ML, or large-scale data systems
