Overview:

Location: Albany, NY

Salary: $160,000 - $185,000

We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect who will support our client to develop technical strategies that enhance New York State HR systems through stronger PeopleSoft capabilities, reduced customization, and improved interoperability. This role will assess business and technical needs, recommend implementation strategies, and support delivery of system enhancements and new functionality. The ideal candidate has deep PeopleSoft implementation experience, strong enterprise architecture judgment, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions. 

Duties:

* Participate in finalizing business requirements to develop a firm understanding of the needs.

* Participate in finalizing functional and technical requirements.

* Document legacy system architecture, as needed.

* Develop strategies to enhance the interoperability of the existing PeopleSoft systems to increase data reliability, streamline workflows, and eliminate duplicate data entry.

* Develop technical solutions to deliver existing and new functionality while reducing the number and complexity of PeopleSoft customizations.

* Develop technical solutions to meet business needs not effectively and efficiently delivered by PeopleSoft.

* Participate in prototype and proof of concept exercises.

* Identify opportunities to streamline the number and complexity of interfaces to PeopleSoft and other applications.

* Document the to-be architecture, taking into consideration state shared services, enterprise standards, and security requirements.

* Participate in the development of project, workstream, and sprint planning to sequence the delivery of system enhancements and new functionality to ITS business owners.

* Develop artifacts required to support software development life cycle standards.

* Develop analyses and other products to support program governance and project management efforts

* Work with reports and presentations on technical analyses and recommendations.

* Create reports and presentations on prototype and proof of concept exercises.

* Develop Software development lifecycle (SDLC) artifacts to industry and State standards.

Mandatory Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Math, Sciences, Engineering, or technical background preferred but not required

* 8+ years of relevant experience as a solutions architect in HR systems, enterprise applications, or technical strategy.

* Experience supporting at least 1+ PeopleSoft implementation project

* Experience developing technical strategies to maximize PeopleSoft capabilities, limit customizations, and increase system interoperability.

* Experience developing SDLC artifacts, technical analyses, reports, or presentations to support program governance and project management efforts.

* Ability to identify technical options and implementation strategies for requirements not efficiently delivered by PeopleSoft configurations.
