About the Opportunity

The Senior Engineer, Applied AI will lead the technical execution of enterprise-grade Generative AI (GenAI) solutions within the Data & AI team. This role is responsible for designing, prototyping, and deploying production-ready AI applications that enhance client experiences, optimize internal processes, and drive intelligent automation. The position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver impactful AI-powered tools across digital, voice, and analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

* GenAI Solution Deployment: Design, prototype, and deploy advanced Generative AI solutions for both client-facing and internal corporate platforms.

* RAG and Model Optimization: Build and optimize applications utilizing large language models, vector databases, expert prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.

* Chatbot and Agent Development: Develop AI-powered chatbots and intelligent agents for digital and voice channels, ensuring production performance, scalability, compliance, and support for real-time interactions.

* Vendor Integration: Collaborate with external vendors to evaluate, benchmark, and integrate emerging GenAI platforms and third-party APIs.

* Proof-of-Concept Creation: Create proof-of-concept applications for cutting-edge AI use cases, including document classification and automated summarization.

* Efficiency and Cost Management: Optimize prompt structures, model tuning parameters, and token usage to continuously enhance accuracy and operational cost-effectiveness.

* MLOps and Architecture: Partner with ML/AI Ops teams to ensure reliable data pipelines, robust deployments, and system observability. Participate in architectural discussions to integrate AI solutions enterprise-wide.

* Strategic Product Alignment: Align technical implementations with product management regarding user needs, deployment timelines, and business priorities.

Requirements

* Professional Experience: 6+ years of experience across machine learning, NLP, AI engineering, software engineering, or data engineering, with a dedicated recent focus on LLMs and Generative AI.

* Chatbot Proven Track Record: Proven experience deploying production-grade AI chatbots within the past 2 years.

* Programming and Libraries: Expert Python programming skills paired with deep familiarity in modern ML and GenAI libraries (such as LangChain, Transformers, OpenAI API, and Hugging Face).

* Data and Vector Systems: Proficiency working with vector databases (including FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma, or Weaviate) and constructing RAG pipelines. Solid SQL skills and experience with data platforms like Snowflake are required.

* AI Engineering Core: Strong experience with prompt engineering, model tuning, API orchestration, and structured LLM evaluation frameworks.

* Communication and Teamwork: Ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Proven track record working collaboratively in fast-paced environments with diverse teams.

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

* Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in financial services or regulated customer service environments. Familiarity with voice AI/conversational AI in telephony, dbt, Salesforce integration, and GenAI use cases involving document understanding or personalized financial insights.

Compensation

* Annual Salary Range: $150,500.00 to $173,000.00.
