Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

* Develop test and deploy predictive machine learning models to support business use cases such as customer behaviour risk assessment fraud detection and operational optimization

* Conduct quantitative and statistical analyses on large complex datasets to extract actionable insights

* Design and create data visualizations and dashboards for targeted high volume big data sources to communicate insights effectively to business and technical stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities:

* Collaborate closely with business technology and data engineering teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions

* Perform data exploration feature engineering and model validation to ensure accuracy robustness and explainability

* Document analytical approaches model assumptions and findings in a clear and concise manner

* Support model monitoring performance tracking and continuous improvement post deployment

* Ensure compliance with data governance privacy and regulatory standards applicable to Canadian banking environments

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science Statistics Mathematics Computer Science Engineering or a related field

* Strong hands-on experience in machine learning statistical modelling and predictive analytics

* Proficiency in Python eg pandas NumPy scikit learn Tensor Flow, PyTorch and/or R

* Experience working with large datasets using SQL and big data platforms eg Spark Hadoop Snowflake

* Solid understanding of data visualization tools such as Tableau Power BI or matplotlib seaborn

* Strong analytical thinking problem solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in banking financial services or risk compliance analytics

* Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS Azure or GCP

* Knowledge of model explainability bias detection and responsible AI practices

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex insights to nontechnical audiences
