The Role:
We are seeking experienced Azure Data Factory Data Engineer to join a critical, long-term project focused on enhancing and optimizing existing data systems within the healthcare domain.
Your primary focus will be designing, improving, and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows that handle sensitive healthcare data.
This is a full-time, long-term remote engagement where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing data solutions.
What we are looking for:
* 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
* Practical experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestration and pipeline management, 3+ years
* Strong proficiency in SQL with proven experience optimizing complex queries
* Hands-on experience with Snowflake in production environments
* Solid experience with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation techniques
* Experience working with sensitive healthcare data and understanding of compliance and data protection requirements
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
* Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team
* Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results remotely
* Located in CET timezone (+/- 3 hours), we are unable to consider applications from candidates in other time zones.
Nice-to-have:
* Experience with Talend (especially for understanding or maintaining legacy data processes)
* Familiarity with DBT for modern data transformation workflows
* Experience working in structured product teams with product owners, delivery managers, and architects
* Knowledge of data governance and data modeling best practices
* Experience with performance monitoring and pipeline observability tools
Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory
* Design efficient data acquisition and transformation workflows
* Improve and implement robust data cleaning mechanisms to ensure high data quality and integrity
* Optimize and performance-tune complex SQL queries
* Support and execute data migration and integration into Snowflake from multiple data sources
* Ensure compliance and secure handling of sensitive healthcare data
* Collaborate with product owners, architects, and delivery managers to align technical solutions with business goals
* Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliability and performance
