Full Description

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

SAN FRANCISCO, NEW YORK

The Company

This is a Series E conversational AI company - and one of the best-performing vertical AI startups in the world. They’ve built a platform that handles prospect and resident interactions 24/7 across webchat, SMS, email, and voice, automating everything from lead capture and tour scheduling to renewals, maintenance requests, and resident communications.

Their two core markets are housing and healthcare - two of the most underserved industries when it comes to modern software.

The Role

Data sits at the heart of everything this company does - it powers client-facing reporting, internal strategy, and the product decisions that keep them ahead of the market. As Senior Data Engineer, you’ll own the entire data pipeline: designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that processes vast amounts of real-time conversational and operational data at scale.

This is a high-autonomy role. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, operations, and analytics teams, and your output will directly shape how the business grows. Engineers here ship to production multiple times a day - low bureaucracy, high trust, fast feedback.

What You’ll Do

* Own the full data pipeline - design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines and data infrastructure at scale

* Design core data models and objects used across the entire company

* Build and maintain client-facing reporting solutions that directly impact customer retention

* Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to keep everything reliable

* Create metrics datasets and dashboards that drive internal decision-making

* Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics to optimise data flow across teams

What They’re Looking For

* Strong STEM degree

* 4+ years of professional data engineering experience

* Strong Python programming skills

* Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

* Proven track record in data modelling and database design

* Hands-on experience with ETL design, implementation, and maintenance

* Knowledge of data warehousing solutions, particularly Snowflake

* Self-starter who thrives with full ownership.

* Comfortable working in-office 4–5 days a week in San Fran or New York

Nice to Have

* Experience with DBT and/or Airflow

* Familiarity with AWS services

* Exposure to real-time data streaming platforms

* Knowledge of ML pipelines and tooling

* Data visualisation experience

Compensation & Benefits

* Meaningful equity stake

* Full medical, dental, and vision coverage (100% premium covered)

* 401(k), commuter benefits, and fitness stipend

* Fully paid parental leave and unlimited vacation

* Relocation support and in-office perks (all meals covered, fully stocked kitchen)
