Senior Consultant (Digital & AI)
MomentumIQFull Description
The anti-consultancy is hiring in the regions.
MomentumIQ is a New Zealand digital transformation consultancy working across AI, business intelligence, cyber, quality engineering, integration, and project delivery.
We do consulting differently. No land-and-expand. No over-promising. No creating dependence. We meet clients where they are, commit to outcomes, and leave teams stronger than we found them. Our AI services follow the same logic: governance and literacy that empower teams, plus full-time and fractional resourcing through to solution design, delivery, and change.
We're not locked into any single vendor or platform. We stay across what's happening in technology, whether it's Microsoft, Anthropic, or something new, and we match the right solution to the problem. Our job is to separate the hype from what's actually useful, and help our clients move with confidence.
We're hiring a Senior Consultant in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty to help grow what we do here.
The role
You'll work directly with the Regional Manager, with the backing of our Auckland team. Some weeks you'll facilitate a workshop, others you'll manage project delivery or plan a regional event. No two weeks look the same, and that's the point.
The split: 50% billable delivery, 40% business development, 10% service innovation.
You'll suit this role if
* You've worked for an AI, Technology or Digital Consultancy and you know what kind of consultant you don't want to be and you're ready to be empowered to do things differently
* You're well connected in Waikato or BoP and people pick up when you call
* You're energised by business development, not just comfortable with it
* You hold your own in front of senior audiences, whether facilitating or pitching
* You like wearing multiple hats and don't need a process to tell you what to do next
* You've been paying attention to what AI is actually doing in NZ businesses
* You believe consulting should leave clients stronger, not more dependent
You probably won't suit this role if
* You want a pure delivery role with zero BD
* You prefer big-firm process and a thick playbook
* Your instinct is to maximise scope rather than maximise outcome
What you get
Direct influence on regional strategy from day one. Access to our national client base, IP, and delivery frameworks. A team of senior practitioners who actually share what they know. Real autonomy and the chance to build something you can point to in five years.
Send your CV and a short note on why.
Applications close 30 April 2026.
No agencies, please.
