Senior AI/ML Engineer – GenAI

We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer based in Montreal to lead the development and deployment of GenAI solutions within a capital markets environment. This role supports multiple business lines including investment banking and securitization, with a focus on building intelligent capabilities that streamline document-heavy workflows, enhance decision-making, and reduce manual processes across front-office operations.

Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and deploy GenAI-powered solutions across capital markets business lines

* Build and maintain end-to-end ML and NLP pipelines from prototyping through production deployment

* Architect and implement LLM-based workflows using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph

* Evaluate and select appropriate LLM models based on use case requirements, cost, and performance

* Integrate vector databases to support retrieval-augmented generation and document intelligence capabilities

* Collaborate with distributed teams across the US, Canada, and India to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions

* Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate delivery

Requirements

* 5–7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, NLP, or AI engineering

* Strong hands-on proficiency in Python (non-negotiable)

* Direct experience building with LLMs, including model evaluation, comparison, and selection

* Experience with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and/or LangGraph

* Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, KDB, SQLite-based vector stores)

* Background in NLP, text extraction, document processing, or text-to-SQL is highly valued

* Experience in capital markets, investment banking, or securitization is a strong plus but not required

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working across time zones via video

* Familiarity with agile/scrum delivery cadences and tools such as Jira

Nice to Have

* Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, Cursor)

* Exposure to document-heavy financial workflows (deal pipeline management, syndication, loan securitization)

* Experience deploying GenAI solutions within regulated or enterprise environments
