About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join as our first accounting hire to own day-to-day accounting operations and help build scalable financial processes as we grow. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also thinking strategically about controls, systems, and process improvement.

You will be responsible for core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close, and will partner closely with leadership to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

* Own and execute full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor inquiries

* Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, collections, cash application, and revenue tracking

* Process and oversee payroll, including coordination with payroll providers, benefits deductions, tax filings, and payroll reconciliations

* Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and proper classification of transactions

* Support tax compliance and tax filings (sales tax, payroll tax, 1099s) in coordination with external advisors

* Perform other ad hoc duties as necessary and assigned.

Month-End & Financial Close

* Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

* Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations

* Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP

* Own monthly close and consolidation process of multiple entities including US, UK, GmbH

* Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed

Systems & Process Improvement

* Help implement, optimize, and maintain accounting systems and tools

* Identify opportunities to automate and streamline AP, AR, payroll, and close processes

Required Skills & Experience

Essential Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, related field, or combination of professional experience. .

* 4-5+ years of experience in general accounting; A combination of industry and public accounting experience is preferred but not required. CPA is a strong plus

* Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and cost plus agreements

* Proven ability to manage and understand US GAAP and general accounting processes

* Demonstrated strength with analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced ability to analyze and present data

* Proven ability to maintain excellent attention to detail and accuracy

* Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc); must be highly proficient in Excel

* Excellent problem solving skills; project management experience a plus, ability to work in a fast pace environment

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred, Not Required):

* Experience with financial audit preparation is strongly preferred

* Experience with Netsuite, Quickbooks, Intacct, etc

* Experience with Gusto or other payroll systems

* System implementation experience
