Job Title: Python Engineer with REST & GenAI

Job Location : Charlotte NC (Onsite/Hybrid)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Engineer with strong expertise in REST API development and Generative AI (GenAI) to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and production-ready applications, leveraging modern AI frameworks and cloud platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

* Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)

* Solid experience building and consuming RESTful APIs

* Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

* Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, Hugging Face

* Experience with prompt engineering and AI orchestration patterns

* Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP)

* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases

* Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

* Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments

* Good understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using Python

* Build and consume high-performance, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs

* Develop and integrate Generative AI solutions using LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic)

* Implement advanced techniques such as prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and model fine-tuning

* Integrate AI models with enterprise systems, databases, and third-party services

* Optimize API performance, reliability, and data processing efficiency

* Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices

* Implement authentication, authorization, and security mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.)

* Collaborate effectively with frontend, DevOps, data, and business teams

* Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes

Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems and applications

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

* Experience with Azure OpenAI or enterprise GenAI deployments

* Knowledge of vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, Azure AI Search)

* Exposure to microservices architecture

* Understanding of MLOps and AI governance

* Experience working with Kubernetes

* Familiarity with frontend technologies like React or Angular
