Product Engineering Intern
Invested IncFull Description
About Invested Inc:
Invested Inc. is building the go-to media brand for the retail investor. We produce shows, podcasts, and editorial content that reach 400K+ newsletter subscribers, manage AltIndex, an alternative data stock research SaaS tool for our audience, and are scaling a portfolio of high-value affiliate properties and sponsor partnerships across finance verticals. Founded by Brandon Harris, who previously scaled a sports media brand to 25M+ followers and a $54M acquisition, Invested Inc. is a small, fast-moving team that punches well above its weight with AI tooling and smart execution.
The Role:
We're hiring a high-agency Product Engineering Intern to build and ship real product: customer-facing AI features, cross-platform data infrastructure, internal tooling, and new web properties. You'll work directly with the Head of Product & Engineering, own scoped projects end-to-end, and ship to production frequently. Remote, full-time, 12 weeks with potential to convert to a longer-term role.
What you'll do:
* Build full-stack, customer-facing features: from DB and APIs to polished UI. Own scoping, implementation, testing, and release. Work spans AI-powered product features (LLM APIs, agentic tool use, function calling, MCP integrations), web applications, data dashboards, and internal tools.
* Build and connect data infrastructure: help design and implement pipelines that stitch data across ad platforms, email, SMS, affiliate tracking, and revenue systems to power attribution, analytics, and business intelligence.
* Ship new web properties fast: use Claude Code and AI-assisted development to rapidly build, deploy, and iterate on web-based tools and sites.
* Build internal automation: create systems for programmatic content generation and marketing asset production at scale using Claude Code workflows.
* Dogfood and iterate: instrument, measure, fix, and improve product quality. Write lightweight tests. Add observability.
* Collaborate: work with the founding team across product, growth, content, and sales. Participate in code reviews and RFCs. Document decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Full-stack fundamentals: strong Python and TypeScript/JavaScript. React or React Native experience. Has built and deployed web applications that real people use. CS Fundamentals including Object Oriented Programming, DSA, Databases, Computer Architecture, Networking
* API development: experience building and consuming REST APIs. FastAPI or similar Python API frameworks. Comfortable working with third-party integrations, webhooks, postbacks, and structured data.
* AI engineering: working knowledge of LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI), prompt engineering, agentic tool use and function calling, MCP server development, and evaluation frameworks. Has built something that calls tools, retrieves context, or orchestrates multi-step AI workflows.
* Data fluency: writes SQL that joins, aggregates, and transforms data across multiple sources. Can build a data pipeline from scratch: pull from API, clean, load, query.
* Modern frontend: React or React Native with state management. Builds polished, functional UI with good UX sensibility.
* Cloud and infra: familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure. Git fluency.
* Ownership and speed: bias to ship, clean code, iterate. Self-managed. Asks good questions when stuck, does not wait for detailed specs.
* Currently enrolled in a CS program (graduating May 2026 or later).
Nice-to-haves:
* Experience with abstracted deployment and hosting platforms (Vercel, Netlify, or similar).
* Docker or containerization basics.
* Experience publishing to iOS or Android app stores.
* Understanding of multi-touch attribution, cohort analysis, or LTV/CAC modeling.
* Familiarity with Beehiiv, email marketing APIs, or SMS platform APIs.
* Experience with serverless architectures or cron-based job orchestration.
* Experience with Agile Development
* Experience with analytics tools such as Posthog
* Familiarity with financial data APIs or fintech products.
* Prior work building dashboards in Metabase, Looker Studio, or similar.
* Startup experience or comfort operating with minimal structure.
Logistics:
* Schedule: 40 hours/week, 12 weeks (mid-June through late August 2026)
* Location: Remote (US)
* Compensation: $22/hr
* Eligibility: US work authorization required
Benefits:
* Real ownership of production systems at a revenue-generating company.
* Direct exposure to the full business: product, data, marketing, and monetization.
* Potential to convert to a longer-term role.
* Remote first with flexible schedule
