Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Portfolio & Operations (P&O) Business Manager to join our team and support a Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) embedded within one of our client's, a leading global biotechnology organization. This role is the "operational backbone" of the CoE, tasked with transitioning the organization from fragmented, manual legacy processes to a unified, scalable “One Source of Truth” operating model.
This is a high-visibility role sitting at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will be the primary North American point of contact for the execution of Scientific Knowledge training and workshops, requiring you to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics across multiple time zones.
What You’ll Do
* Workstream Execution: Support the implementation of both the Learning & Development (L&D) and Deployment of Operational Guidelines (DOG) workstreams.
* Training & Workshop Leadership: Act as the accountable lead for executing Scientific Knowledge training and workshops.
* Operational Governance: Review and maintain roadmaps and KPIs for L&D and DOG operations to ensure business performance and transparency.
* System Management: Manage training assignments and information systems (e.g., Cornerstone) to ensure organizational compliance and growth.
* Global Liaison: Serve as the operational bridge during "Golden Hours," interacting with teams in Central Europe (CET) and the US West Coast (PST).
* Strategic Support: Assist with portfolio strategy, budget planning, vendor management, and tracking cloud/software spend.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Healthcare Life Sciences (HCLS).
* Certifications: Professional training in Project Management is required (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, or Design Thinking).
* Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience operating L&D information systems, specifically Cornerstone or similar enterprise platforms.
* Strategic Execution: A proven track record of translating a high-level vision into practical tactics and measurable success criteria.
* Operational Discipline: Experience in matrixed environments with the ability to guide cross-functional teams toward successful outcomes.
* Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, comfortable navigating and influencing challenging stakeholder dynamics.
* Availability: Must be able to work remote-first with a strong preference for EST hours to maximize overlap with European and West Coast partners.
Nice to Have
* Prior experience supporting a Center of Excellence (CoE) or specialized computational science group.
* Familiarity with the operational needs of AI, data science, or R&D organizations.
