People Operations Manager

As a People Operations Manager, you will be a key driver in scaling core HR functions and enhancing the employee experience. You will oversee all operational HR activities, including employee relations, benefits, HRIS management, onboarding, and compliance, while implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency. This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can manage high-volume, complex environments and partner across teams to support organizational growth. You will contribute to building a structured and scalable People Operations framework that supports both employee satisfaction and business objectives. Your work will directly influence the effectiveness of HR operations and the overall success of the organization.
Accountabilities
* Own and manage all core operational HR functions including employee relations, benefits, leaves of absence, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS, workers’ compensation, and compliance reporting
* Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the People team
* Configure, maintain, and optimize HRIS for accurate data management and reporting, ensuring payroll and employee records are up to date
* Partner with Finance to audit and execute payroll accurately and compliantly
* Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance and resolving inquiries effectively
* Lead onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience
* Manage benefits programs, leave policies, and compliance requirements while supporting strategy evolution and total rewards initiatives
Requirements
* 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on HR operations management
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
* Expert-level knowledge of employee benefits, leaves of absence, HR compliance, and employment laws and regulations
* Proven experience with HRIS systems, preferably Rippling
* Track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence
* Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization
* Preferred: healthcare industry experience, startup and established organization experience, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
