OpenSCAD CAD Engineer – Parametric Design | Remote

Position: OpenScad Expert

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $20 - $120/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

* Lead end-to-end OpenSCAD projects from requirements gathering to final model export.

* Develop and structure parametric scripts with reusable modules for efficient design workflows.

* Apply CSG techniques to create complex 3D models and perform 2D-to-3D transformations.

* Iterate on models with logical, script-driven decision-making and engineering reasoning.

* Prepare and export files in standard formats ensuring manufacturing compatibility.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly communicate design processes.

* Document workflows, design rationale, and technical decisions for AI-driven applications.

Requirements

* Strong experience with OpenSCAD and completion of full design projects.

* Solid knowledge of CAD fundamentals and Constructive Solid Geometry concepts.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software tools.

* Ability to create, optimize, and document reusable parametric scripts and modules.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

* Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving approach.
