About the Opportunity

The Machine Learning Engineer will design and implement advanced AI systems to enhance pharmacy benefits through AI, machine learning, and generative AI technologies. This role focuses on developing scalable, high-performance solutions involving natural language processing (NLP), multimodal data analysis, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). You will contribute directly to expanding AI capabilities that increase productivity and improve experiences for customers, partners, and employees.

Responsibilities

* AI Development: Develop and deploy ML solutions for document understanding, search, Q&A, and virtual agents.

* Backend Services: Build and maintain Python-based backend services specifically focused on AI applications.

* API Integration: Design and implement APIs for seamless AI model and service integration.

* Data Engineering: Create tools for large-scale data processing and ETL to extract insights that guide ML development.

* Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshoot issues related to model deployment and backend services.

* Robustness & Validation: Develop automated testing and validation algorithms to ensure ML solutions are reliable.

* Compliance: Ensure all developments adhere to healthcare data security standards and HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.

* Experience: 2+ years of industry experience in ML solution development and deployment preferred.

* Technical Fundamentals: Strong understanding of deep neural networks, Transformer-based LLMs/MLMs, boosted decision trees, and RAG.

* Programming: Proficient in Python, object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and ML libraries such as PyTorch.

* Generative AI: Experience with services like OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemma; knowledge of prompt development or fine-tuning is a plus.

* Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, logical thinking, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment.

* Salary Range: $120,000 — $150,000 USD.
