About The Role

Qualcomm AI Research is seeking talented AI software engineers to join their dynamic team focused on enabling artificial intelligence technologies on edge devices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, developing and deploying advanced models optimized for power, memory, and computational efficiency. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to groundbreaking projects, including first-of-its-kind generative AI models such as on-device text-to-image generation with stable diffusion and large language models capable of running entirely on devices. The position involves close collaboration with hardware, software, and systems teams, ensuring that your designs are integrated into industry-leading chips embedded in next-generation smartphones, autonomous vehicles, robotics, and IoT devices. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant educational background and experience, including a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with at least two years of work experience in hardware, software, or systems engineering. Alternatively, a Master's degree with one year of relevant experience or a PhD in a similar field is acceptable. Candidates should have a strong foundation in programming, system design, and AI frameworks, with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation. Prior experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, proficiency in C/C++ and Python, and familiarity with neural network quantization and SDKs like Qualcomm QNN are highly desirable. Knowledge of Android development and optimization techniques for hardware cores will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

* Develop end-to-end embedded AI software capable of running quantized neural network models efficiently on Qualcomm's advanced hardware platforms, ensuring optimal resource utilization.

* Design, implement, and enhance machine learning and AI software stacks, kernels, and runtime components to improve overall performance and power efficiency of AI applications.

* Collaborate with hardware teams to develop high-quality solutions for new machine learning operators and layers, leveraging the capabilities of next-generation AI processors.

* Create debugging and profiling tools, as well as user-friendly SDKs, to facilitate rapid deployment and adoption of AI models by customers and partners.

* Participate in cross-disciplinary projects, providing technical expertise to integrate AI models seamlessly into embedded systems and consumer devices.
