Lead Software Engineer

Lake Shore Dynamics is building a cutting-edge simulation platform for high-frequency financial data. We are building proprietary generative models to simulate financial markets from the ground up, with the goal of giving traders access to the most realistic sense of their trading strategies' performance in current market conditions.

We are a group of researchers with backgrounds in math, economics, trading, and computer science, operating on the frontier of AI research. We are building a machine learning based simulation framework from first principles, and are seeking a talented technical lead who will drive our engineering efforts and be a strong cultural fit with our small, fast-paced team.

Requirements

* 3+ years of experience in Rust and/or C++

* 1+ years of experience with Python

* Demonstrated track record of architecting, designing and writing organized, well-documented code at scale

* Experience with DevOps and MLOps (CI/CD, ML training pipelines, model deployment)

* Proven ability to lead and unblock a development team on a day-to-day basis, including debugging, profiling, and identifying performance bottlenecks

* Exceptional communication skills in English

* Git/version control

* Experience with Linux servers

Responsibilities

The focus of this role is leading the application and development of our machine learning framework:

* Development of the core framework

* Leading the daily standup and driving the team's working process by ensuring adherence to meeting agendas and the development roadmap

* Getting people unstuck, debugging, profiling, and resolving performance bottlenecks across the team

* Client-specific use cases and applications of the framework

* Bridging our engineering and research teams
