Compensation: Up to $300,000 Base + Equity

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to define and lead AI strategy at a company undergoing a fundamental transformation toward AI-driven products and operations.

As Head of AI, you will own the vision, roadmap, and execution of AI initiatives across the business. This is not an experimental or research-heavy role your work will directly impact revenue, product experience, and operational efficiency. You’ll be responsible for turning AI from a capability into a core competitive advantage.

What You’ll Do

* Define and execute the company-wide AI strategy aligned with product and business goals

* Build and scale AI/ML and data science teams, establishing best practices and delivery standards

* Lead development of GenAI and agentic AI systems across multiple product surfaces

* Drive implementation of RAG architectures with a focus on reliability, scalability, and quality

* Oversee AI platform infrastructure on AWS (including deployment, monitoring, and cost optimization)

* Establish experimentation frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics tied to measurable business outcomes

* Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and UX to integrate AI seamlessly into user workflows

* Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on AI opportunities, risks, and investments

* Guide architecture decisions, review technical approaches, and unblock teams when needed

What You’ll Bring

* Experience in AI/ML, including significant leadership responsibility

* Proven track record of shipping production-grade AI systems with measurable business impact

* Experience owning AI roadmaps and influencing executive stakeholders

* Strong expertise in Generative AI, agentic systems, and RAG architectures

* Experience operating AI platforms on AWS (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock, or similar)

* Ability to lead 0→1 initiatives and scale them into mature, high-impact systems

* Strong understanding of experimentation frameworks and data-driven decision making

* Comfortable operating in a hands-on leadership capacity—guiding without micromanaging

Nice to Have

* Experience with recommendation or personalization systems

* Background in marketplace or e-commerce platforms

* Prior experience building AI functions within scaling organizations

Tech Stack

* AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock, cloud infrastructure)

* LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph)

* Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems

* Modern data and ML tooling
