Google Cloud Architect

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Architect to design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, security, and operations, along with the ability to collaborate across teams to drive cloud adoption and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Deployment

* Design and configure Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments, networking components, and cloud infrastructure aligned with architectural standards.

* Deploy and manage compute resources, storage solutions, and platform services across GCP.

* Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager to ensure consistency and repeatability.

Security & Compliance

* Collaborate with SecOps and CISO teams to implement security controls, policies, and compliance standards.

* Establish automated and templated security configurations across cloud environments.

* Ensure secure network architecture, including firewall rules, IAM policies, and data protection mechanisms.

Identity & Access Management

* Manage users, roles, groups, and access controls in alignment with IAM policies.

* Enforce least-privilege access and maintain governance across all cloud resources.

Monitoring, Reporting & Reliability

* Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using GCP-native tools.

* Monitor system availability across a multi-vendor stack to ensure high uptime and rapid incident resolution.

* Develop reporting dashboards for performance, cost, and operational insights.

Cost Optimization & Efficiency

* Recommend and implement strategies such as auto-scaling, instance scheduling, and resource rightsizing.

* Drive cost-awareness and optimization initiatives across teams.

Collaboration & Advisory

* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for cloud-related initiatives across project teams.

* Communicate and advocate cloud platform capabilities to increase adoption.

* Work closely with infrastructure, operations, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

* Evaluate emerging GCP services and recommend adoption where beneficial.

* Contribute to best practices, SOPs, and automation frameworks for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS consumption.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

* 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or cloud engineering.

* Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.

* Strong understanding of networking, VPC design, and hybrid cloud architectures.

* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

* Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

* Google Cloud certifications such as:

* Professional Cloud Architect

* Professional Cloud Security Engineer

* Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

* Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

* Experience with monitoring tools like Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
