Senior AI Engineer

Overview

CEI’s Solutions Division is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and deliver agentic and generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing consulting role for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in modern AI systems, cloud-native development, and IT or professional services environments.

You will work closely with clients and internal delivery teams to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI-driven solutions. CEI supports long-term career growth through defined career paths, mentoring, and ongoing technical training.

Responsibilities:

* Design and implement AI-driven solutions, including agentic automation, document intelligence, and advanced RAG systems

* Deliver billable, client-facing development services and maintain strong client relationships

* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions

* Apply modern AI concepts such as prompt and context engineering, agent orchestration, memory management, model routing, and evaluations

* Build, deploy, and operate AI solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP

* Work within agile, sprint-based delivery teams

* Improve solution quality through observability, evaluation, and continuous optimization

* Contribute to technical standards, knowledge sharing, and best practices across the Solutions team

Required Qualifications:

* Strong software engineering background (Computer Science or equivalent experience)

* Recent, hands-on experience delivering production AI or agentic solutions in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

* Experience working in IT consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery roles

* Hands-on experience with one or more agent frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph/LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, AWS Strands, Google ADK, Claude Agent SDK)

* Experience building RAG and knowledge search solutions using technologies such as Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, OpenSearch, Kendra, Weaviate, or Chroma

* Familiarity with AI observability and evaluation tools (e.g., LangFuse, LangSmith, RAGAS)

* Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

* Passion for continuous learning and staying current with AI advancements

Preferred Qualifications

* AI-related certifications (Microsoft or AWS)

* Experience with data engineering or modern data platforms

* Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, Azure Bicep, CloudFormation)

* Experience working in agile consulting or delivery organizations
