The Opportunity

We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer to work at the intersection of Enterprise SaaS Sales, product, and customer success. This technical role works directly with our VP of Sales to help engineering and product leaders confidently select PromptLayer as the solution for building and maintaining their critical LLM-powered applications.

You will have a deep understanding of how customer prompts live in codebases and agent architectures, whether built in-house or created using agent frameworks and builder platforms. This context is critical to proposing clean, reliable PromptLayer implementations using our Python or JavaScript SDKs, REST APIs, webhooks, or self-hosted deployments when required.

Each customer brings unique problems to solve with varying infrastructures and requirements. Your role is to quickly understand their system design and propose an intuitive integration that accelerates development while minimizing risk, security concerns, and developer overhead.

You will also support post-sale onboarding and technical guidance to ensure strong adoption, long-term reliance, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Bring

* Experience in a customer-facing technical role like Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager

* Strong skills designing Enterprise POCs, leading implementations, and ensuring post-sale adoption

* Strong understanding of LLM applications, including prompts, agents, evaluation strategies, and observability

* Confidence translating technical discovery and requirements into appealing implementation plans that complement existing infrastructure and architecture

* Expert problem-solving instincts and customer empathy

Technical Qualifications

* Deep understanding of agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, or agent builder platforms

* Hands-on experience with prompt engineering in production environments

* Experience integrating SDKs, REST APIs, and webhooks into existing systems

* Comfort providing coding guidance or execution as needed for implementation or support - most frequently in Python and JavaScript codebases
