Role Description
We are looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to build and run the financial backbone of our company. This is not a classic controlling role, it is a hands-on, business-critical position at the intersection of finance, strategy, and operations. You will work directly with leadership to set up reporting, create transparency, and enable data-driven decisions in an early-stage environment.
Your Responsibilities
1. Financial Setup & Reporting
Build and own monthly reporting
Set up simple, scalable financial structures (no over-engineering)
Develop forecasting models (budget vs. actuals)
2. Business Partnering
Translate financials into clear business insights
Support leadership in strategic decisions (pricing, investments, hiring)
Define and track key KPIs relevant for an early-stage company
Challenge assumptions and bring financial clarity into ambiguity
3. Operational Finance
Own invoicing, cash collection, and payment processes
Manage external partners (tax advisors, accountants, auditors)
Ensure clean, reliable financial data and processes
4. Build for Scale
Set up structures that work now but scale later
Help transition from manual to standardized to partially automated processes
Support preparation for future fundraising / investor reporting
Qualifications
* Solid experience in Finance and Accounting for budget management, cost analysis, and compliance
* Proficiency in Financial Reporting to ensure transparency, accuracy, and regulatory adherence
* Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a focus on detail and deadlines
* Fluency in German and English
* Startup or scale-up experience
* Strong understanding of financial modeling and reporting
* Ability to work hands-on and independently
* High level of ownership and pragmatism
* Comfortable working with incomplete data and ambiguity
* Experience in SaaS, PropTech, or data-driven business models (including subscription-based revenue models)
* Exposure to fundraising or investor reporting
* Background in consulting, PE-backed companies, or fast-growth environments is a strong plus
