About the Role:

The EdTech Project Lead is the operational driver of custom learning-engineering projects at Wisewire, responsible for guiding a project from kickoff through final delivery. As a 1099 contractor, you will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and staffing, communicate directly with clients, and ensure each project’s goals are met with quality, efficiency, and clarity.

You’ll act as the central point of coordination and accountability — keeping the client aligned, keeping the team moving, and keeping the project on time and on budget. While not a traditional PM role, this position requires strong project leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to bring learning-focused products to life using modern tools and AI-supported workflows.

What You’ll Do

Lead Projects from Start to Finish

* Own the full lifecycle of assigned learning-engineering projects from planning to delivery.

* Translate client goals into clear scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and deliverable expectations.

* Manage budgets, forecast hours, and track burn rates to ensure financial alignment.

Staff and Guide the Project Team

* Identify, onboard, and manage designers, developers, writers, SMEs, and freelancers.

* Set expectations, organize workflows, and hold the team accountable for quality and timelines.

* Maintain alignment with Wisewire’s systems, standards, and production frameworks.

Drive Client Communication and Partnership

* Serve as the main point of contact for all assigned projects.

* Communicate proactively about progress, risks, trade-offs, and decisions.

* Build client trust by delivering clarity, consistency, and high-quality outcomes.

Champion Quality and Learning Impact

* Ensure deliverables meet instructional integrity, learning-science principles, and creative standards.

* Review work products, provide actionable feedback, and resolve bottlenecks.

* Promote repeatable processes and templates that elevate future project efficiency.

Use Technology and AI to Enhance Output

* Apply emerging tools (Generative AI, automation, prototyping tools) to streamline workflows.

* Support the creation of evidence-based, technology-enhanced learning experiences.

* Contribute to Wisewire’s evolving set of learning-engineering practices.

Who You Are

* An experienced instructional designer, project lead, or learning engineer with full project ownership experience.

* Skilled at leading distributed teams and managing freelance talent.

* Strong communicator who can operate independently while keeping stakeholders aligned.

* Comfortable using AI-powered tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Runway, Notion AI, etc.), LMS platforms, and authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, Rise, etc.).

* Calm under pressure, organized, and able to turn ambiguity into forward motion.

Highly desirable:

* Experience with XR/VR/AR, simulations, or game-based learning environments.

* Familiarity with data-driven or automated workflows.
