Director of Analytics

Overview

Our client is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to lead data strategy, analytics delivery, and insight generation across the organization. This role is ideal for a leader who can build trusted data foundations, define key metrics, and partner with teams to turn data into decisions.

The Director of Data & Analytics will own BI and analytics outcomes—driving measurement, experimentation, and scalable data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Governance

* Define data strategy including metrics definitions, governance, and quality standards.

* Establish a single source of truth for key KPIs across product, revenue, and operations.

* Improve data reliability, documentation, and access controls.

Analytics & Business Impact

* Deliver insights to guide product direction, GTM performance, and operational efficiency.

* Lead KPI development for funnel metrics, retention, cohort analysis, and unit economics.

* Enable experimentation and measurement (A/B tests, causal analysis where appropriate).

Data Platform & BI Enablement

* Partner with engineering to improve pipelines, warehousing, and analytics tooling.

* Own dashboards and self-serve BI adoption across stakeholders.

* Improve data modeling, semantic layers, and reporting performance.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

* Build and develop analysts and/or data engineers (as scope requires).

* Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance leaders.

Qualifications

* 8–12 years in analytics/data roles with 3+ years leading teams or functions.

* Strong track record driving business decisions through data.

* Experience building scalable BI/data capabilities in growing organizations.

Technical & Data Skills

* BI tools (Looker/Tableau/Power BI), SQL, and modern data stacks.

* Familiarity with warehouses (Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift) and ETL/ELT tools.

* Strong statistical and analytical thinking; experimentation experience a plus.

Leadership & Attributes

* Structured problem solver with strong stakeholder management.

* Quality-focused and detail-oriented with pragmatic prioritization.

* Able to translate complexity into clear narratives and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in SaaS metrics, subscription analytics, and revenue funnel measurement.

* Exposure to ML/AI analytics use cases.
