Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of AI and Data Science to lead our AI and data

initiatives, supporting both internal transformation and customer-facing innovation. This leader will

collaborate closely with the CEO, CTO, and VP of Product & Innovation to embed intelligent,

data-driven capabilities across our technology stack and services.

You'll be responsible for building and leading a cohesive, high-performing multi-location team across

the U.S. and India.

Key Responsibilities

- AI Strategy & Execution

 - Define and implement Cogitates AI vision and roadmap.

 - Lead the design and deployment of intelligent agents, copilots, and automation capabilities

across our product suite.

 - Build the Agentic AI layer on top of our Digital Edge platform to launch innovative, value-added

features for customers.

 - Establish best practices for data architecture, governance, and platform extensibility to support AI

and analytics needs.

- Internal AI & Data Evangelism

 - Develop internal tools and AI solutions that streamline development, QA, support, and delivery

operations.

 - Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across business units through effective

communication, enablement, and visibility.

- Customer-Centric Innovation

 - Represent Cogitates AI and data capabilities to customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

 - Lead AI-driven solutioning for key clients, including pilots and co-innovation initiatives that

demonstrate real business impact.

 - Evangelize how AI, powered by structured data, can improve underwriting, claims, operations,

and distribution.

- Team Building & Leadership

 - Build and lead a distributed team of AI/ML and data science professionals across the U.S. and

India.

 - Establish a strong team culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence across time zones.

 - Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to ensure aligned, high-impact

delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Experience

 - 10+ years of experience in AI, data science, or data engineering with at least 3+ years in a

leadership role.

 - Demonstrated success in building scalable data platforms and deploying AI/ML solutions in

production environments.

 - Strong background in GenAI, LLMs, NLP, and distributed data systems.

 - Experience leading global teams and working cross-functionally with business and technical

stakeholders.

- Skills

 - Deep technical expertise in modern AI/ML frameworks (e.g., HuggingFace, LangChain,

PyTorch), data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Delta Lake), and MLOps practices.

 - Proven ability to develop and drive AI roadmaps, aligning technical possibilities with business

priorities and market opportunities.

 - Strong understanding of AI governance, including model lifecycle management, data privacy,

ethical AI use, and compliance.

 - Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans, balancing innovation with

pragmatic execution.

 - Excellent communication and storytelling skills-able to influence executive stakeholders, engage

cross-functional teams, and inspire technical talent.

 - Collaborative leadership style with a track record of building and scaling high-performing global

teams.

 - Experience with Insurance Industry, especially on P&C domain, is a plus.
