About the Role
The Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics is a strategic role focused on transforming data into actionable intelligence that guides the company's planning, prioritization, and operations at the highest levels. This position drives decision-making across executive teams, the board, and investors by defining data standards, building systems for continuous insights, and leveraging AI to accelerate analytics processes. The role is essential for ensuring that data shapes investment, growth, and performance evaluation, moving beyond traditional reporting to create an AI-powered decision engine.
Responsibilities
* Partner with executive leadership on planning, forecasting, and resource allocation decisions
* Develop analytical frameworks to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities
* Lead analyses to uncover upsell potential, white space, and customer health metrics
* Ensure consistency and reliability of key business metrics across departments
* Resolve conflicts in metric definitions and partner with Finance on investor-grade reporting
* Use AI to automate reporting, anomaly detection, forecasting, and narrative generation
* Collaborate with Data Engineering and Product teams to integrate AI-driven insights into reporting
* Establish responsible AI practices for validation, governance, and transparency
* Create and maintain dashboards and reports for board, investor, and leadership decision-making
* Manage executive data deliverables on a regular cadence (weekly, monthly, board-level)
* Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable narratives for senior stakeholders
* Enable self-serve analytics capabilities across the organization
* Hire and develop a team of analysts and analytics engineers
* Continuously assess and upgrade BI and AI tools to meet organizational needs
Requirements
* 8+ years in analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy roles
* 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity
* Strong background in B2B SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, net revenue retention, CAC, and pipeline coverage)
* Proven track record as a strategic partner influencing senior leadership decisions with data
* Experience using AI to enhance analytics workflows, including automated SQL, NLP, and AI-assisted modeling
* Demonstrated ability to reduce manual reporting through automation and intelligent tools
* Proficient with modern BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar) and strong SQL skills
* Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery
* Executive presence with the ability to communicate complex data clearly to boards and senior leaders
Nice to Have
* Familiarity with analytics engineering workflows and Databricks
* Experience building or formalizing a BI function from the ground up
