Job Title: Dimensional Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
We are seeking a Dimensional Engineer to support the development and production of advanced mechanical systems for next‑generation hardware products. In this ole, you will work at the intersection of mechanical design, manufacturing, and metrology—partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative concepts from early design through high‑volume production.
You will play a critical role in defining geometry control strategies, leading tolerance and variation analysis, and supporting robust measurement systems that enable high‑quality, scalable products. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, analytical, and passionate about turning complex concepts into manufacturable solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead or contribute to geometry control strategies, including 3D dimensional analysis and datum coordination, to support functional requirements and manufacturing build strategies
* Develop and drive tolerance analysis and GD&T methodology in collaboration with mechanical design teams; establish and share best practices
* Apply 3D variation simulation and statistical modeling to solve complex design and assembly challenges
* Collaborate with cross‑functional partners across mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, quality, and metrology to generate concepts and detailed designs
* Support measurement planning and execution, including:
* Gage R&R and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
* Authoring and reviewing Measurement Standard Operating Procedures (MSOPs)
* Working with internal and supplier metrology teams
* Support product development across the full lifecycle—from early concept and prototyping through start of production and scaling
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
* Experience performing 3D tolerance and variation simulation analysis using industry‑standard tools
* 5+ years of industry or academic experience in dimensional engineering, mechanical design, or manufacturing engineering
* Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining, injection molding, additive manufacturing, and precision assembly
* Proficiency with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack‑ups, and related metrology practices
* Experience supporting design teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through production release
Preferred Qualifications
* 5+ years of hands‑on dimensional engineering experience with advanced GD&T application and 3D variation analysis
* Experience supporting high‑volume manufactured products, such as consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or industrial equipment
* Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling tools used for mechanical design and analysis
* Experience developing scripts, macros, or algorithms to support measurement data analysis or assembly simulations
* Knowledge of statistical quality tools, including:
* Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
* Gage R&R
* Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) methodologies
* Experience using statistical analysis software (e.g., for capability analysis, DOE, and data visualization)
