About the Opportunity
The Data Engineer I is responsible for designing and building data-centric software applications that support clinical and operational functions within the healthcare system. This role focuses on creating data pipelines, transformations, and interfaces that enable key initiatives. The position contributes by implementing efficient, scalable data solutions and collaborating with multiple technical teams to ensure the delivery of impactful data services.
Responsibilities
* Application Development: Design and build data-centric software applications tailored to support complex healthcare processes and clinical workflows.
* Pipeline Engineering: Develop, test, and optimize automated data pipelines, data transformations, and data enrichment processes.
* Data Access Provisioning: Create accessible data provisioning layers and functional user interfaces aligned with specific project requirements.
* Modern Infrastructure: Employ cloud computing infrastructure, big data technologies, and modern software development methodologies to manage information efficiently.
* Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to align data assets with enterprise goals.
* Code Governance: Maintain meticulous version control using modern source control tools and produce clean technical documentation.
* Problem Solving: Seek simple, lean, and highly effective software solutions to solve complex data ingestion and processing problems.
Requirements
* Technical Experience: At least 1 year of relevant professional experience working across AI/ML workflows, data pipeline development, cloud computing environments, or large big data stores.
* Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. A Master’s Degree in a related quantitative field is preferred.
* Core Competencies: Foundational knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data architecture design patterns, and distributed computing frameworks.
* Collaboration Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to work cross-functionally alongside engineers, product managers, and architectural stakeholders.

Compensation
* Hourly Wage Scale: Base pay ranges vary significantly by geographic location, with minimums from approximately $34.43 to $52.79 per hour, and maximums stretching from approximately $53.44 to $81.94 per hour.
* Wage Determination: Exact placement on the regional wage range depends entirely on individual experience, qualifications, and localized market factors.
* Additional Incentives: Total compensation packages may also include applicable shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime premiums, performance incentives, or corporate bonuses.
