The Data Engineer will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data is collected, stored, and processed efficiently while maintaining quality, integrity, and security. This position involves developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, designing data warehouse solutions, and implementing automated workflows to streamline analytics and reporting. The role provides exposure to a variety of datasets, advanced BI tools, and cloud-based architectures, supporting innovation and informed decision-making. Accountabilities
* Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows for scalable analytics solutions.
* Develop and optimize data warehouse models, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and processing.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
* Perform data validation, cleansing, and error handling to maintain high-quality datasets.
* Implement data security measures and access controls to protect sensitive information.
* Build dashboards, metrics, and KPIs using BI tools to support business decision-making.
* Monitor data infrastructure for performance, reliability, and compliance with governance standards.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
* 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data warehousing.
* Strong proficiency in SQL (MS SQL Server 2012+), Python (with Pandas, PyODBC, NumPy), and BI tools such as Power BI.
* Experience with data warehousing concepts and techniques, including dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology preferred).
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, dbt, or Dagster.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, able to interact with both technical and business teams.
* Preferred: experience with healthcare data, AGILE methodology, and building AI-enabled analytics solutions.
