We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Analytics & Data Engineering Knowledge team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and developing meaningful narratives and metrics, building the underlying data aggregations and schemas to support insightful visualizations in our user interface.

Our Dublin-based team is dedicated to unifying insights related to data processing, data lineage, and data infrastructure across the entire Services division. This initiative aims to generate a comprehensive operational health view of our data pipelines, driving operational excellence through incident analysis, guiding agentic resolution of issues, and enabling proactive prevention of future incidents. The role primarily focuses on data within our data warehouse, involving writing Spark SQL jobs and creating Snowflake dynamic table definitions.

Responsibilities

* Define and develop metrics and narratives that support business insights

* Build and maintain data aggregations, schemas, and pipelines within Snowflake

* Develop Spark SQL jobs to process large datasets efficiently

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions

* Support operational health monitoring by analyzing data pipelines and incident data

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and workflows

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or quantitative field

* Strong commercial experience in Data Analysis, Insights Analysis, or Analytics Engineering roles

* Advanced proficiency in SQL

* Intermediate skills in Python or R

* Experience deploying and managing jobs via schedulers such as Airflow

* Proven ability to tell compelling stories with data

Nice to have

* Experience with Spark

* Knowledge of big data concepts (HDFS, Spark, compute, and memory components of job sizing)

* Experience with the full BI development cycle — from defining metrics, developing ETL pipelines, to optimizing schemas and aggregations for performance
