🚀 We’re Hiring: Freelance Data Engineer (Databricks Specialist) | Amsterdam

Are you a Data Engineer with strong Databricks experience looking for your next freelance opportunity? We’re partnering with an innovative organisation to find a contractor who can help build and scale a modern data platform.

This is a great opportunity to work on a high-impact project, shaping a scalable lakehouse architecture and delivering real business value through data.

🔷 What you’ll be doing:

* Designing and implementing data pipelines using Databricks

* Building and optimising workflows with Delta Live Tables

* Working with Delta Lake for reliable, scalable data storage

* Developing data transformations using PySpark and Spark SQL

* Collaborating with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders

* Ensuring data quality, governance, and performance optimisation

* Supporting the evolution towards a modern lakehouse architecture

🧠 What we’re looking for:

* Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a cloud environment

* Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks

* Experience with PySpark and distributed data processing

* Familiarity with Delta Lake and modern data architectures

* Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

✨ Nice to have:

* Experience with Unity Catalog or data governance frameworks

* Knowledge of orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt)

* Previous experience migrating legacy systems to Databricks
