Responsibilities:

* Own and develop the full technical stack, including ingestion frameworks, Medallion architecture with OneLake, GraphDB triple stores, Vector Index, Agentic RAG orchestrator, LLM gateways, guardrails, and UI components featuring conversational chat, SPARQL trace explainability, and graph explorer.

* Collaborate with data scientists, ontologists, and product teams to translate conceptual models into scalable, production-ready solutions.

* Ensure seamless integration of semantic web standards and ontology models within the graph database environment.

* Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation pipelines by leveraging vector databases and LLM APIs.

* Implement safety guardrails, prompt engineering, and citation features to ensure AI output integrity and reliability.

* Support rapid delivery within an 8-week timeline, managing milestones and dependencies effectively.

* Work closely with data modellers and ontologists to refine and iterate ontologies and schemas.

* (Optional) Extend expertise into data pipelines, leveraging Microsoft Fabric components like OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, and Medallion architecture; and implement federated SQL queries using tools like Trino or Databricks SQL.

Required Skills:

* Hands-on experience with graph databases such as GraphDB, Neo4j, or Stardog in production or advanced proof-of-concept contexts.

* Proficiency with semantic web standards, including ontology loading, validation, and querying in triple store environments.

* Familiarity with ontology authoring tools like Protégé or Metaphactory to collaborate on model iteration.

* Proven experience designing and building RAG pipelines, especially with agentic orchestration patterns.

* Hands-on experience with vector databases such as Azure AI Search, pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Qdrant for embedding and retrieval.

* Knowledge of NL-to-SPARQL and NL-to-SQL generation techniques, including few-shot prompting and schema-grounding.

* Strong understanding of AI safety considerations such as prompt injection defense, output sandboxing, and confidence scoring.

* Ability to operate efficiently within a short, 8-week delivery cycle with defined milestones.

Preferred, but not required:

* Strong Python engineering skills for data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes, and metadata ingestion.

* Experience working within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem: OneLake, Lakehouse, Notebooks, Data Factory, and Medallion architecture.
