2. About the Opportunity:
The Conversational AI Designer role is responsible for designing and delivering user-friendly, natural dialogue flows for AI-powered chatbots and voice assistants. This position translates client goals into effective conversational architectures, ensuring alignment with brand voice and customer experience standards. The role contributes to the organization by improving conversational interfaces through iterative design based on analytics and user feedback. It is critical for enhancing multi-channel customer interactions and supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of conversational AI solutions.
3. Responsibilities:
• Design natural, clear dialogue flows for chatbots, voice assistants, and AI interfaces.
• Collaborate with clients and product owners to translate goals into conversation architectures.
• Create and maintain conversation design artifacts such as maps, flow diagrams, and scripts.
• Define test coverage and support QA with structured test scenarios.
• Use analytics and qualitative feedback to refine conversation flows and prompts.
• Ensure conversation behaviors align with client brand voice and channel standards.
• Define voice- and chat-optimized conversational behaviors.
• Develop and enforce conversation style guidelines including tone, empathy, and compliance.
• Support implementation in platforms like Cognigy, Amazon Lex, Kore.ai, Yellow.ai, partnering with engineers to optimize solutions.
• Establish standards for reliability, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for durable engineering improvements.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams on data handling and integration requirements.
• Demonstrate core values of integrity, excellence, accountability, and grace.
4. Requirements:
• Authorized to work in the United States or a U.S. citizen working abroad.
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing and delivering conversational AI solutions on commercial platforms such as Cognigy, Amazon Lex, Kore.ai, Yellow.ai, Dialogflow, or Rasa.
• Proven track record of launching multiple production conversational assistants with ongoing iteration.
• Experience designing for both voice and chat channels, including modality-specific best practices.
• Expertise in conversation architecture including intent/slot modeling, dialog management, and error handling.
• Experience designing LLM-assisted or knowledge-grounded conversational flows.
• Practical knowledge of APIs, webhooks, authentication, and backend system integration.
• Proficiency with design and documentation tools such as Miro or Voiceflow.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams, including sprint planning and iteration with QA and engineering.
• Ability to analyze conversation data to drive improvements and define success metrics.
• Experience in contact center or customer service use cases, including agent handoff and compliance language.
• Strong fundamentals in UX writing and collaboration with UX/UI teams, including accessibility and localization considerations.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
