We are looking for: A computer vision / industrial automation software engineer with experience in LabVIEW, Python, C and automation engineering, robotics, test, measurement and/or computer vision. The engineer will primarily design and develop AI and traditional software and advanced algorithms for industrial and scientific applications. This is an onsite position located in the Philadelphia suburbs.
The duties include: Designing, developing, and supporting custom electronic and mechanical test systems, industrial automation, machine vision systems, process control, robotics and automated test equipment for different industries and research institutions. Skills & qualifications:
* Advanced Degree or PhD as a Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Physics, Mathematics, Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, Robotics or a related engineering discipline. Experience may be substituted for advanced degree.
* Programming - Proficient in languages like Matlab, Python or C for industrial applications. LabVIEW is also a primary tool for industrial vision, test and measurement systems. LabVIEW experience or the ability to learn quickly is helpful.
* Systems Integration - Ability to interface with industrial hardware including cameras, sensors, DAQ systems, controls and PLCs. Experience with communication protocols (TCP/IP, serial, industrial Ethernet, Can Bus) and API development for system connectivity.
* Data Management & Processing - Database design and management for test data, system configuration, and reporting. Experience with real-time data acquisition, signal processing, and creating robust data pipelines for industrial applications.
* Software Engineering Best Practices - Version control, testing frameworks, documentation, and code maintenance. Experience transitioning prototype systems to production-ready applications with proper error handling and user interfaces.
* Machine Vision & AI - Experience with computer vision, camera integration, image processing algorithms, and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch). Familiarity with 2D/3D vision systems and AI model deployment in industrial environments.
* Broad technical knowledge spanning a wide range of application areas such as designing and wiring control panels and systems, PLC's, motion control, robotics, vision systems, and using electrical test instrumentation.
* Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organization with respect to project timelines, working independently both onsite as part of a team and remotely.
