Full Description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Architect in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a major cloud migration and modernization initiative within a highly regulated federal environment. You will act as both a technical authority and delivery leader, guiding architecture decisions from design through deployment and operational readiness. The position requires strong ownership of end-to-end outcomes, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant cloud solutions. You will collaborate closely with engineers, program managers, stakeholders, and federal clients to translate complex requirements into actionable architectures. Operating in an Agile, fast-paced setting, you will be expected to drive execution, manage risks, and maintain delivery momentum across multiple teams. This is a high-impact role where technical depth, leadership, and communication skills converge to shape mission-critical cloud systems.

Accountabilities

* Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of a large-scale federal cloud migration program, from architecture design through deployment, stabilization, and operational readiness.

* Design, review, and enhance secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures aligned with federal and organizational standards.

* Drive execution across cross-functional teams, proactively managing risks, dependencies, blockers, and delivery constraints.

* Coordinate with stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into actionable cloud solutions and system designs.

* Oversee migration planning, including cutover strategy, rollback planning, and post-deployment validation.

* Partner with program management to define roadmaps, milestones, sequencing, and execution strategies.

* Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and delivery artifacts.

* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives and federal clients.

* Continuously improve engineering practices, standards, and delivery processes across the program.

Requirements

* 10+ years of progressive experience in cloud engineering roles, including at least 3+ years in cloud architecture or senior technical leadership positions.

* Proven experience leading cloud transformation or migration programs, ideally within federal or highly regulated environments.

* Strong background in solution architecture, technical delivery ownership, and requirements management.

* Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, with willingness to expand into additional cloud platforms.

* Experience with Microsoft automation and development tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Microsoft Graph.

* Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including Conditional Access, hybrid identity, RBAC, and identity governance.

* Familiarity with NIST 800-series frameworks, including NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-63, and related compliance standards.

* Experience supporting security controls documentation, cloud security baselines, and ATO processes.

* Strong DevSecOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and compliance automation.

* Consulting and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability across teams.

* Experience producing technical documentation and architecture artifacts using tools such as Microsoft Office and Visio.

* Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance (active clearance strongly preferred).

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

* Competitive salary range: $170,000-$190,000 based on experience and qualifications.

* Opportunity to work on large-scale federal cloud modernization programs.

* Exposure to mission-critical cybersecurity and cloud transformation initiatives.

* Work in a collaborative, Agile environment focused on impact and delivery outcomes.
