Eggmed is building a next-generation behavioral health platform spanning EHR, RCM, AI agents, scheduling, telephony, and operational workflows across both clinical and front-office operations.

Eggmed is already operating beyond the MVP stage with live production users, active onboarding efforts, and growing operational complexity. We are now entering the next phase of technical maturity, infrastructure scaling, reliability, and product expansion.

We’re looking for a deeply technical, hands-on CTO to lead engineering and help drive the next phase of the company. This is not a pure management role. We are specifically looking for someone senior enough to own architecture and infrastructure decisions while remaining highly involved in the codebase and day-to-day technical execution.

The ideal candidate is someone who can step into a complex production environment, understand systems quickly, stabilize and scale infrastructure, improve engineering processes, and help lead the long-term technical vision of the company.

What You’ll Do

* Spend a meaningful portion of your time coding, reviewing, debugging, architecting, and shipping

* Take ownership of Eggmed’s technical direction, infrastructure, architecture, and engineering execution

* Lead and scale engineering across backend, frontend, infrastructure, AI, and platform systems

* Help stabilize and evolve a complex production healthcare platform

* Design and scale distributed systems handling healthcare workflows, telephony, AI orchestration, scheduling, messaging, and billing

* Own infrastructure and operational reliability across cloud environments, deployments, observability, uptime, and security

* Establish and enforce high engineering standards across architecture, PR reviews, testing, deployment quality, and operational processes

* Improve resiliency, monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery processes

* Partner closely with product and leadership to balance speed, scalability, and technical debt

* Help define long-term engineering hiring and organizational structure

* Ensure HIPAA compliance, data integrity, and operational security across the platform

* Oversee integrations across RCM, clearinghouses, insurance workflows, telephony providers, and third-party systems

What We’re Looking For

* Strong preference for candidates who still operate as hands-on builders, not purely managers

* 8+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend and infrastructure depth

* Significant experience owning production systems and cloud infrastructure

* Experience leading and scaling engineering teams while remaining technically involved

* Strong systems thinking and architecture judgment

* Strong experience with distributed systems, APIs, async workflows, queues, and event-driven architectures

* Experience operating production systems in AWS, GCP, Azure, or comparable cloud environments

* Experience with infrastructure, DevOps, observability, deployments, incident response, and operational reliability

* Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, scaling strategies, backups, migrations, and failure recovery

* Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities

* Strong judgment balancing execution speed with long-term maintainability

Nice to Have

* Experience building or scaling EHR, RCM, or healthcare infrastructure platforms

* Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant environments

* Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, EDI, clearinghouses, or insurance workflows

* Exposure to AI/LLM systems and production AI workflows

* Experience with voice systems, telephony infrastructure, or real-time systems

* Familiarity with Django, Node.js, React, GraphQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Docker, or microservices architectures

* Experience with Stripe, claims workflows, or healthcare billing systems

This role is particularly well-suited for someone looking for meaningful skin in the game, long-term upside, and deep technical ownership while helping shape the future of a healthcare infrastructure company.

Cash compensation will likely be relatively conservative in the near term pending fundraising by Q1 2027, but we are open to substantial equity for someone excited by long-term upside, real ownership, and meaningful impact. For the right candidate, we are open to a meaningful founding-level equity allocation in the range of approximately 3–6% depending on experience, fit, and level of involvement.
